Privacy notice
Last updated: 27 October 2026
This notice explains how Front of House uses personal data when you visit this website, subscribe to our newsletter, or when we contact your business about our Google review-reply service.
Who we are
The data controller is Front of House. [Legal entity name and address to be added.] You can contact us about anything in this notice at hello@yourfrontofhouse.com.
What we collect and why
Newsletter subscribers
If you subscribe, we collect your email address and, if you give them, your name and business name. We use them to send you the newsletter. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email. Our newsletter platform may record whether emails are opened or links clicked so we can understand what's useful; you can tell us if you'd rather this wasn't done.
Businesses we contact about our review-reply service
We contact limited companies and other corporate businesses about our service by email. To do this we may use business contact details that are publicly available, such as a business website, Google Business Profile or Companies House, including a named person's work email address. We also look at the public Google reviews of the business to prepare a free sample. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in offering a relevant service to businesses. We do not email sole traders or individual partnerships without consent.
Every email we send says who we are and lets you opt out. If you object or ask us to stop, we will stop straight away and add your address to a suppression list so you are not contacted again.
Clients
If you become a client, we use your contact details, billing information and access to your Google Business Profile to provide the service and manage your account. Our lawful basis is the contract with you, and our legal obligations for accounting records. Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not see or store full card details.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we use your message and contact details to reply. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries.
Website visitors
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not identify individual visitors. This website does not set cookies.
Who we share data with
We use trusted service providers to run our business. They process data on our behalf and under our instructions:
- Cloudflare (website hosting, security and analytics)
- Our newsletter platform (sending the newsletter)
- Our email provider (sending and receiving email)
- Stripe (payments, for clients)
Some of these providers are based in or transfer data to the United States or elsewhere outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. We never sell personal data.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only your email address on a suppression list so we don't email you again.
- Business prospects: up to 12 months after our last contact if there is no reply, or on a suppression list if you opt out.
- Clients: for the length of the contract and then up to 6 years for accounting and legal purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, have it transferred to you or another organisation, and withdraw consent at any time. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. To use any of these rights, email hello@yourfrontofhouse.com. We will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
